Your Origin Story

Hello, my name is Jasmine Green-Smith, and I currently reside in Washington DC. I’m 31 years old and I have a 4-year-old daughter. This dream came to me overnight as I was lying in bed thinking of all the ways I can help children overcome their challenges. I’ve worked with children with disabilities for 5+ years. I started in home with children and now I’m in the school district helping our babies overcome their challenges. Being in the school district it taught me a lot of things about how our babies need that extra support and that one-on-one. I’ve learned it takes a village to help them succeed in life and their development starts when they are little.

My mission is to open a microschool for autistic children. . The children will learn different things and ways to navigate through life without feeling any different than others. My goal is to ensure that both the parents and children are getting all the help they need. Microschools are unique in their ability to deeply personalize learning for each child. My school will be different because we will focus on education as well but most importantly social play, social skills, STAR/ABA autism, potty training, and feeding training are also important to children and their parents.

• Sibling Discount: 10% off total tuition per additional child
• Full-Year Payment: 5% discount if paid in full at the start of the school year

📌 Notes

• Tuition is due monthly on the 1^st unless you are on the payment schedule.
• A $100 registration fee is due upon enrollment (non-refundable).
• All services are billed monthly and may vary with individualized plans.
• A late fee of $25 dollars will be added after every 30 minutes.

To personalize education for each child in our school, we will implement a multifaceted approach that includes regular formative assessments to track individual progress, differentiated instruction based on student needs, flexible learning pathways, incorporating student interests into curriculum, utilizing technology to adapt learning experiences, and fostering strong student-teacher relationships to tailor support and guidance for every child. Offer multiple learning modalities (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) to cater to diverse learning styles.

I will have regular formative assessments to track the children’s progress with parents and staff; I need to make sure they have different flexible learning pathways for all children since all children learn differently and are on different levels. Develop individual learning plans with specific goals, strategies, and pace based on student data and needs. Since these children have different disabilities, I would offer multiple learning modalities to cater to diverse learning styles for the children. My microschool will not only help those in the community but also people who have the same fear as me. This school is prepared to take on the world and show everyone that doubts people with disabilities. My school will show that they can do whatever they put their minds to. They are beautiful and wonderfully made and no one can tell them otherwise.
